Cattail Cabin was the first place we built, back in 2018, right on the shore of 48-acre Lower Holly Lake in Stone Lake, and it's still the one we point families to when they want a fishing boat waiting at the dock. It sleeps 8 across 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths in about 2,000 square feet. The main-floor primary bedroom has a king Purple bed, there's a second bedroom across the hall with a queen Purple bed, and the open loft holds four twin beds that kids claim the minute they walk in. The kitchen has a center island and a table that seats 8, and the gas fireplace keeps the great room warm all winter. Downstairs, the walk-out basement is the game room, with ping pong and an arcade setup for rainy afternoons. Out on the water you'll find a fishing boat with a trolling motor, 2 kayaks, a canoe, a pedal boat and a lily pad. The dock stays in year-round, so even in January it's the best seat on the lake.
In winter, the snowmobile trail is right out the back door. A trail runs alongside the property from Cattail Lane down to the lake, so you can ride from the driveway straight onto the trail that crosses Lower Holly Lake. Stone Lake's pubs and wine bar are 5 minutes west, Hayward is about 15 minutes north, and the Birkie trails are about a 20-minute drive. Well-behaved dogs are welcome: up to 2, with a $150 flat fee.

Quick answers to common questions about this property.

Tourism is a big industry in this neck of the woods, so if you're coming to this area for the tourist attractions, our cabin is ideally located nearby. Hayward, as mentioned, is only 15 minutes to the north and is well-known for it's food, shopping, year-round events, festivals, and tourist attractions.
The nearest town however, is Stone Lake, which is only a 5-minute drive straight west from the cabin. My wife and I love Stone Lake. It's smaller and quieter than Hayward (which is more of our style) however there are still many neat places to check out! If you have time, drive into town, park your car and walk around for a bit. With the pubs, antique stores, micro-brew/coffee house, and wine bar, there's plenty to do!
