Cattail Chalet, built in 2019 on 48-acre Lower Holly Lake, is home to our original wood-fired sauna. We built the four-seat sauna almost entirely from vintage reclaimed lumber, and we supply the firewood and everything you need to get it going. Give it an hour to an hour and a half to heat, then watch it glow from the deck at dusk. The chalet sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The primary has a king Purple bed, the bedroom across the hall has a queen Purple, the lower-level bedroom has a queen, and the open loft has four twin beds. The open main floor has a kitchen with a center island, a table for 10 and a gas fireplace. Downstairs is a couch-and-TV hangout with ping pong. The screened porch and big deck overlook the lake, and we provide 2 adult kayaks, 2 kid kayaks, a canoe and a pedal boat. The dock stays in all winter, and the ice fishing is great.
In winter, we keep the driveway plowed, and the snowmobile trail runs alongside the property from Cattail Lane down to the lake and across Lower Holly, so you can ride right from the driveway. The Nordic ski trail is about 10 minutes southwest, and the Birkie trails near Hayward are about 20 minutes away. Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome for a $150 flat fee.

Quick answers to common questions about this property.

Tourism is a big industry in this neck of the woods, so if you're coming to this area for the tourist attractions, our chalet is ideally located nearby. Hayward, as mentioned, is only 15 minutes to the north and is well-known for it's food, shopping, year-round events, festivals, and tourist attractions.
The nearest town however, is Stone Lake, which is only a 5-minute drive straight west from the chalet. My wife and I love Stone Lake. It's smaller and quieter than Hayward (which is more of our style) however there are still many neat places to check out! If you have time, drive into town, park your car and walk around for a bit. With the pubs, antique stores, micro-brew/coffee house, and wine bar, there's plenty to do!
