We have exciting news for guests at O’Connell Cabin Co.! Cattail Chalet, one of four lakefront cabins in Stone Lake, Wisconsin, now features a brand-new custom-built wood-burning sauna. Seating up to 4 people, this cozy addition is right on the lake with a large window offering a stunning view of Lower Holly Lake. Here’s what makes this sauna special and how it enhances your Stone Lake getaway year-round.
A Traditional Sauna Experience
Nestled at Cattail Chalet, this wood-burning sauna brings authentic Finnish flair to Lower Holly Lake. Crafted almost entirely from vintage, reclaimed lumber and timbers, it delivers a unique, and very rustic experience. The large window provides a breathtaking lake view while seated, perfect for small groups or families to unwind after a day on the water. Fire it up with the provided wood, and enjoy the rustic charm steps from your king-size bed, a treat for all seasons.
Health and Relaxation Benefits
Stepping into the sauna offers more than warmth—it’s a health boost. The heat promotes circulation, eases muscle tension, and helps sweat out stress, ideal after kayaking or a brisk winter walk. Studies suggest 15-20 minute sessions can improve sleep and skin health, making it a year-round wellness perk. The lake view adds serenity in any season.
A Year-Round Amenity
Our sauna shines all through fall, winter, and spring too, offering warmth against crisp air or snowy days, and a cozy escape during rainy days. For Labor Day weekend (August 30–September 1, 2025), Cattail Chalet—the only property still available—is perfect for a post-barbecue steam session, followed by s’mores by the fire pit. Our pet-friendly cabin lets your dog join the lakeside vibe, making it a seasonal highlight.
